WEB SITES

“ … juvenile adults with an arrogant political bias …”

Hey, Boss …

I’ve been looking at different web sites and some make me wonder greatly. In your internet travels, do you ever see web sites that make you wonder about them, why they exist, things like that?

REPLY: The most recent site that left me scratching my head was cowboy.com. It is an American web site for cowboys and cowgirls, mostly imagined, as I am sure most of the converted are suburban-based hypothetical riders from Dream Land whose ample backsides never squash into the most accommodating saddles.

They have a section called Religion and Politics where they beg contributions. To help get them started, I sent them a question: “Is it true that the US government employ six journalists to write every word spoken in public by George Bush jnr?” The question was based on a recent press release stating that this was the case and I was curious to learn if Americans were aware of it or not.

My question was censored by an unknown moderator. When I asked why, I was informed: “You are trying to bash our president and our country …”

What a strange dictatorial attitude, I thought, for “the land of the free” and one that boasts of being a “true democracy.”

It would seem that on cowboy.com you can discuss politics as long as it does not imply anything derogatory about Georgie jnr in particular and the USA in general.

I thought cowboy.com was very immature, insincere and hypocritical, inhabited largely by juvenile adults with an arrogant political bias – paranoic hillbillies of the internet wastelands.
